Dislike ?

The artwork is a large abstract modern painting. An unconscious reflexion about our world. Style is gestural and free. Wax pastels gives energic lines on some places of the work. There's automatic writing : an imaginary alphabet. The word "DISLIKE" is written in a pale beige on the upper right corner.

Why "Dislike" ? I was painting a pure abstract, putting colors and vigorous writing on the canvas. Suddenly, in a phenomenon of paréidolia, I saw the silhouette of a man in the paint stains. He may have been a worker welding (sparks) or a member of the special law enforcement units with a helmet and body protections. Maybe, something had exploded at his feet ... Then, it was only a violent scene, the repression of a revolt, or war. And the word "dislike" was becoming haunting in my head. So, I let all the details come in, my hand wrote those words with imagined letters. I was painting a terribly contemporary scene of violence and chaos, as I have seen lately. The images are written in the soul, and sometimes, without being able to do anything, they come out ...

TRANSPORT TUBE SHIPPING: Due to the size, the painting is sent unstretched, rolled in a transport tube. A framer will hold it very easily on a frame.
