Artist statement
Iranian painter, Farnaz Jahanbin, creates complex portraits of home through the dual lenses of sound and vibration. Whether its two men fighting over the pavement, a boy playing guitar, or the chatter of a public bus, Jahanbin’s work translates the complexity of day-to-day life into abstract painting. Each jagged line and streak is an autobiographical expression of synesthetic experience.
Like Farnaz's series The Voice, Curves makes each voice come to life on the canvas as an abstract form. As Rochelle Carr said very rightly - "Art has a voice - let it speak"
