About the art
Artist statement
A contemporary, abstract representation of the theme 'The Three Graces'. Created from three small drill columns of Irish bluestone. Inspiration for me was the combination of three graceful figures, in different poses.
In this sculpture, I've explored the elegance of form and the timelessness of stone. Each freestanding figure embodies a unique energy, their abstract silhouettes inviting contemplation and connection.
My aim was to create the suggestion of movement within the limitations of the small stones. And that the three separate parts influence each other and together form a unity.
This sculpture is made out of 3 parts, each on a little base of black marble. Seize (including base):
Part 1: 35x10x10 cm
Part 2: 29x10x10 cm
Part 3: 29x10x15 cm
