Artist statement
This oil painting represents a winter butterfly. Ledesma works on unplanned subjects, elements, emotions, life experiences, which belong to his subconscious. He's always experimenting, in order to get different textures and color mixtures. He uses the regular oils, but changes constantly from one solvent to another. This is an abstract composition in black and white. The work is rich in details and textures and invites the spectator to remain and deepen into the painting. Oil Dispersion is the painting technique used to make this work, which is Ledesma´s personal discovery. The original and colorful artwork of Francisco Ledesma is inspired in nature, and shows attractive areas which are plenty of fractal textures and is rich in details. His work is causing a sensation in the art market and it is looked for collectors around the world because of its uniqueness.
