Artist statement
Leaving blank space is a common technique in traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy. The blank space intentionally left makes the work seem harmonious and delicate, giving people more room for imagination. In Western art, this is not particularly emphasized.
Chinese and Western art are quite different, and each has its own evolution and styles. However, if I put the two in the same image, how will it be? Can it be harmonious?
I have tried many ways to answer this question, and the series Blank Space is a relatively satisfactory answer.
