About the art
Artist statement
One of four Spectre paintings from the Artists series "The intelligence of feeling" which considers vulnerability, loss and the notion of sometimes feeling lost, the human condition.
These paintings were originally inspired by "Spectre" the 2015 song by Radiohead, a haunting, moody track, with a somber sweeping grandeur which was written for the James Bond film of the same name, but went unused; the film instead featured the song "Writing's on the Wall" by Sam Smith.
The Artist was taken by the story of this beautiful piece of music being rejected for the Bond film, and unable to get it out of her head at the time she has continued to be haunted by the feeling of melancholia whilst listening to the track.
The painting is strung ready to hang.
