Artist statement
Title painting from the series Unreliable memoirs.
In “Unreliable memoirs”, Parr explores memories of her childhood creative pursuits in tandem with her current art practice, revisiting the colours and emblems of her childhood. Glorious deep blue Hydrangeas at her granparents house, distant views of the sea on daytrip visits, playing amongst the lush garden growth and using the scribbled hand marks that she made as a child.
The painting is a diptych and will be delivered as two paintings with holes and bolts provided to join both paintings tightly together and a hanging cord provided to thread and tie through hanging eyelets once both paintings are fixed together. Or they can be hung with a small space between.
