Description: Light. Space. Structure. Louis Kahn, the architect of the Salk Institute used these basic elements to create one of the world’s most masterful pieces of architecture. His minimalist design uses geometrical shapes to create a weightless structure. Kahn believed that architecture should serve the humanistic needs of the people and the community. The space and structure he created along with inspiration provided by Jonas Salk, is just as much a haven for cutting edge science as it is for meditation and personal reflection. “Euphoria” is my personal vision for the space which was made possible by an extraordinarily talented ballet dancer and a magical sunset over the Pacific Ocean. It is my sincere hope that those who view the photograph will feel the exhilaration and sheer joy we experienced in the making of this magical moment.
