About the art
Artist statement
Nasturtium (Still life)
Simple and bold statement piece of a still life flower vase of Nasturtium flowers.
Pilot blue and few more shades of blue is used in this work, with contrasting Cadmium yellow, Bright Ladybug red and Diamond Orange. Australian yellow green is used to highlight the lively leaves of the flower bunch. The blue dots are not just fast brush spots, they are carefully drawn with a tiny brush tip so they look round and tidy. The blue dots extend to the edges so a decorative external frame is not required.
Every angle of the painting is, …well, a painting.
Overall simple, minimal but the shapes and patterns put together with a flower vase gives a fulfilment to the canvas. Galleries stretched professional canvas with 3.5cm thick edges.
This work is delivered flat in a box,
wired at the back and
ready to hang.
Varnished.
