Artist statement
It's a modern interpretation of traditional Japanese paintings of flowers and birds. It has a cartoon-like deformed shape, vivid colors and graphical shapes. The background uses 22 K gold leaf.
I was influenced by classical Japanese paintings of flowers and birds. The classics are updated in a modern way to pursue the novelty created by the fusion of the classics with the modern, Western and Eastern.
