Based in: Vietnam
Painting since fifteen and enrolled in art school at seventeen, Ho Huu Thu’s initial influence was the western art of Gauguin, Picasso and Chagall. Subsequently it was Buddhist philosophy and Nguyen Gia Tri, one of Vietnam’s best known lacquer masters (1906-1993), who inspired the artist.
