About the art
Artist statement
I made all the ¡Peligro! images in Cuba while photographing in the streets of Old Havana. The images remind me of Conflict Photography, their inherent aggressive appearance making them look like casualties or combatants in action. The title for the series comes from the tape that was often stuck up around them in the street, with the word ¡Peligro! repeated on it. This translates as Danger, which I thought was perfect for the title. The prints are on 84.1cm x 84.1cm paper and the image size is 76cm x 76cm. Edition of 5. Signed, numbered, titled and dated on Verso. There are 5 prints in the edition plus 1 Artist Proof.
