Artist statement
Jacky is drawn to ‘ethno-mathematics’ — the study of the relationship between mathematics and culture. Her works epitomise the culture and memories of her Asian root, taking shape under the architectonic realms. She creates paper cutting sans mechanical assistance, where she lets her intuitive and meditative practice take her through hours of restless process daily, focusing on the journey more than the destination. The outcome is often an effective play of light and shadow.
