About the art
Artist statement
Argyle is based on repetition and acute angles. It has a stately presence and is systematic with geometric underpinnings. Argyle has an unexplained unanticipated power… almost an iconic feel. The top of the sculpture not only defines the conclusion of Argyle but it likely adds to the iconic sense of the work. The top returns the piece to a horizontal vertical format, countering the rest of the piece while powerfully pulling it all together. It turns out to be a surprising piece of structural strength. It might well be an architectural proposal for a skyscraper. Argyle has an undeniable presence, power, and majesty emanating from within.
Argyle includes a removable base. The bottom 18” of the sculpture easily slides into the slotted base.
