About the art
Artist statement
This work represents the Saturday market in Saint-Rémy de Provence, early in the morning before it's crowded. Saint-Rémy is considered the 'capital' of the Alpilles., a mountain range with a landscape of white limestone rocks, located in the northwest of Provence. This oil was realised on a linen canvas with brush and knife. Sketches and a watercolor made in-situ served as studies for it's making. This work is framed with a wooden floating frame but can also be sold unframed on request.
Size witout the frame: 41x33x2cm
