About the art
Artist statement
This oil painting depicts the southern side of the Sainte-Victoire Mountain, a famous landmark in Provence. The artist first made watercolors and sketches near Le Tholonet where Cézanne painted it several times. Then he used these watercolors as studies for this work which he painted with brushes, pallet knife and extra-fine pigments on a linen canvas. In this work the artist manages to convey the atmosphere and luminosity of the place, keeping to the essentials. This painting is discreetly framed as in the last photo and ready to hang.
Dimensions unframed: 60x73x2 cm Dimensions framed: 63x76x2 cm.
