About the art
Artist statement
Sketches and watercolors made at the foot of the mountain, made famous by Cézanne, were used for this oil, painted on a linen canvas and framed with a wooden floating frame as in the last photo..The artist while taking a great interest in the contrast , tried to synthesize it to keep only the essential and convey the atmosphere of Provence. In the foreground an olive grove can be seen. At the back the mountain stands out. In the middle there is a 'mas', a typical provencal farmhouse.
