About the art
Artist statement
My works originate from a spontaneous intuitive process laying down a material or color and then making connections within the surface. In this piece the materials are handmade papers, acrylic paint and ribbon. The ribbon after being glued onto the surface was painted over then removed leaving behind an interesting texture. On the bottom I used handmade paper as a stencil which left the circular type impressions. This painting was recently selected by Flatfile gallery for their January online 2021 show.
