About the art
Artist statement
My art practice is based on exploration and experimentation. I do not adhere to a recognizable style. Rather my method of producing work is informed and finds it's cohesiveness by the colors I use, the forms that I use such as the grid, stripes, triangles, solid blocks of colors, geometric shapes and minimalist tendencies.
I listen to music while I paint, usually jazz. I listen to musicians such as Pharaoh Sanders, Sonny Rollins, Charles Mingus, Sarah Vaughan and Dave Brubeck. This painting is dedicated to Nina Simone's, Feeling Good, because that's exactly how I felt when I finished it.
