Artist statement
A striking work that weaves one painting through two others resulting in a rich, warm, textile like artwork that subtly ripples over the canvas. A stunning piece that will definitely be a talking point. Named for the medieval English name for hazelnut which I felt was apt for a painting that uses the ancient craft technique of weaving and is predominantly in shades of chocolate and reddish brown.
The work is secured to canvas. It is fitted with D rings and wire for immediate hanging.On the front you will find my initials. On the back is my signature, title and year.
This painting is registered with the NRAA (National Registry for Australian Artists). Details of this registration are provided as well as a Certificate of Authenticity.
THE INTERWEAVE COLLECTION
Highly unique paintings that emulate the stunning drape of textiles. This series combines my love of craft with my passion for painting. Warp and weft threads are cut from a variety of paintings that exist only to be deconstructed and then reconstructed as a new whole. Finished works are made entirely from paint with no other material present.
