Artist statement
Warm golden yellows sit alongside rich pinks and violets interspersed by glimmers of gold and touches of deep green.
This work is an investigation into feelings of being the same but different, surrounded yet invisible. These are themes that occur regularly in my work and are influenced by my own experience of many international moves. When new to a country without the support of a social network feelings of not quite belonging are strong.
This work has two sets of D rings and wire for your choice of vertical or horizontal hanging (see in situ images). The pattern continues around all sides, therefore, there is no need to frame. On the back you will find my signature, initials, title and year. It is registered on the NRAA (National Registry for Australian artists). The work comes with details of the registration and a Certificate of Authenticity.
