Artist statement
Lush emerald greens are offset with opulent purple on an elegant hand-made wall sculpture covered a variety of different kinds of glass and mirror.
An undulating, unusual work that’s shape was inspired by a scrunched piece of paper. An ancient and enduring art form now pays homage to a throwaway society.
Emerald was originally part of my Discarded Collection which explored transience through permanence. It is featured in my book ‘Sculptural Secrets for Mosaic’. A Certificate of Authenticity and registration document for the NRAA (National Registry for Australian Artists) with be sent with the work.
Emerald has a hook on the back for immediate hanging.
It is signed and dated on the reverse.
