About the art
Artist statement
This artwork defies the rectangle, refuses to be labelled, and, could never be accused of being flat.
Fleeting moments are captured in a tangible format. Shifting Sands is minimalistic yet intricate, complex yet soothing. In it, I explore the transient nature of time and the tactile essence of memory.
Alternative and innovative, this paint textile ripples from warm peachy-orange through pale yellows throwing shadows over the wall.
Threads are made entirely from dried paint.
Ripples are held permanently in place with a strong, lightweight, papier-mache skin applied to the reverse of the textile.
The work is fitted with D-rings and wire for immediate hanging. On the back you will find my signature, title, and date. The artwork is registered with the NRAA (National Registry for Australian Artists), details of the registration will be included with a Certificate of Authenticity.
The work is sealed with multiple layers of fine art varnish.
