Artist statement
Many different paintings created without any backing are cut and meticulously layered over one another onto a canvas.
Luxurious pinks, sparkling golds and rich burgundies result in a mouth-watering abstract that uses changes in direction to reveal a partially hidden circle.
Inspired by the Strawberry Moon the full moon in June (Northern hemisphere) which marks the beginning of the strawberry season.
This work is part of an ongoing exploration of full moons in folklore.
This work is fitted with D rings and wire for immediate hanging. On the back, you will find my signature, initials, title, and year. It is registered on the NRAA (National Registry for Australian artists). The work comes with details of the registration and a Certificate of Authenticity.
