About the art
Artist statement
Wild feline exotic animal painting on canvas by artist Julia Hacker. Fauvism is the style of Les Fauves (French for "the wild beasts"), a group of early twentieth-century modern artists whose works emphasized painterly qualities and strong color over the representational or realistic values retained by Impressionism. I work in that style, using intense color to describe light and space .. Wild energy and power of the female animal are camouflaged with playful colors and a spark of flirt in the eyes. sides painted in white. Artwork ships in a tube worldwide.
Please note: due to its size, this piece will ship from the artist's studio in Canada unstretched and rolled in a tube.
