About the art
Artist statement
This artwork draws inspiration from the chupacabra, a legendary creature entrenched in the folklore of the Americas, notorious for its vampiric tendencies. According to the tales, it preys upon livestock, particularly goats, by attacking and consuming their blood. The physical descriptions of this creature vary, but it's generally imagined as a hefty being, akin to the size of a small bear, often characterized by a row of spines running from the neck to the base of the tail.
In my creative interpretation, I've taken a unique approach by depicting the chupacabra as a bird. This chupacabra bird dons a collar embellished with spikes and scales, and it sports an elongated beak well-suited for siphoning blood, offering a fresh perspective on this legendary entity.
The painting's sides are painted and it is ready to hang without a frame. It is signed by me on the side and on the back.
