Ansalas is a contemporary artist whose work process focuses on experimentation and research especially within the field of photography.
She uses the camera in an unconventional way. Somehow the work follows a system or thought process that alludes to the very essence of photography, which is to write/draw with light.

Through superimpositions, transparencies, permutations and juxtapositions of lines and planes, Ansalas carefully composes the reality of the image. Her exploration focuses on the variables of spatial construction, the different qualities of movement and visual perception.

The forms created do not exist in reality, but are drawn photographically through the movement Ansalas makes with the camera. The different variations of movement produce solid or ethereal forms, spaces with depth or flat surfaces that fluctuate between abstraction and spatial illusion.

In the Composition series, Ansalas uses one or only two photographs in each image, repeating them to find an interaction between the forms, joining and assembling them.
