Artist statement
This is a part of my ongoing Vessel series.
"Since my first visit to Varanasi, I have been fascinated by the mysterious charm of this ancient city.
The Holy water rituals of the Ganges river, fire offerings in the ghats at dawn and dusk, and the evocative sounds coming from the temples and the old households.
These colorful daily rituals struck a chord in my heart. Gradually Varanasi took over an essential part of my being, as if my life was swallowed by the serene yet dynamic motion of the sacred river.
The vessel series is born of my encounter with Varanasi, it is my offering to life. Life that brings endless movement of emotions and tastes.
The river flows inside me wherever I am."
