Artist statement
In this sculpture, Karmin was thinking about the colors of the ocean. Looking out at the cool refreshing colors of the sea on a hot day she decided to use vivid teals, oranges, turquoise, white, and the soft natural color of the sand. LOST and FOUND #92 is a happy, energetic, yet calming, eye-catching piece of wall art that can be hung vertically or horizontally. If you are a Miami Dolphins football fan then this sculpture would be a perfect accent piece for any man-cave on game day. It is a lively modern wood sculpture. This style of contemporary organic artwork has never been done before. It is a one of a kind unique new style of art that you will never find anyplace else. It was inspired by Karmin watching wood curls fall to the floor which became "lost" while a bowl was being carved on a lathe. She "found" them and created something beautiful. From being "lost" to being "found". It is sprayed with a UV protective spray but not recommended to be hung in direct sunlight. Karmin will also work with you to create a custom piece of color, size, and shape.
