About the art
Artist statement
This large dreamy color field abstract is drenched in rich periwinkle blues with pops of teal green, yellow-orange, purple, and magenta. Kat Evans' sophisticated sense of color was nurtured by her family of artists (her father was noted WPA artist Emerson Evans who worked on the famous Coit Tower murals in san Francisco with Diego Rivera). Kat studied art and graphic design at university with former students of Josef Albers, color theorist and author of "The Interaction of Color". This vibrant abstract painting is coincidentally Pantone Matching System Color of the Year for 2022 “Very Peri”...a periwinkle blue with violet-red undertones.
