Artist statement
Often the most alluring beauty is found in the most simple compositions. ‘Beckoning’ illustrates the way bodies of water invite us to experience them. Water stimulates us on a multi sensory level. We are drawn to water in a way that is unspoken but universally understood. ‘Beckoning’ features my signature textural impasto water contrasted against the smooth metallic steel of the ladder and white concrete of the pool perimeter.
