Artist statement
"South Beach Sundays" is inspired by the beachfront of the luxurious SLS Hotel in South Beach, Miami. The hotel's signature pink & white umbrellas and pink sun lounges scattered across the beachfront offer guests an enviable spot to soak up the sun, in the most 'instagram worthy' surroundings. The sand is highly textured with a thick application of an impasto acrylic and resin sand mix, offering that extra tactile element that brings the painting to life.
