Artist statement
The canvas that’s been covered in cibaque fiber, mimics the rugged surface of tree bark, while two spherical formations crafted from the same fiber evoke nodules found on tree trunks. Precisely arranged fibers coexist with chaotic bulges that break through the canvas, introducing volume and depth.
Medulle is a testament to the artist’s ability to honor cultural heritage while embracing a contemporary vision.
