Artist statement
3 related staccato marks, one rising, two falling, cut their way down the print.
I am thinking of and inspired by the almost physical quality of musical notes.
A double-plate print with several colour states ( Violet, Magenta, Cream) , and here in this version, apricot yellow, on violet solferino.
The printing plates are worked with modelling paste and carborudum powder and printed, etching fashion, in a limited edition of 35. I have used Arches Moulin du Gue paper for the wonderful lustre it gives the printed surface.
