Pause
Action, then rest, then action again.
Inspired by a tiny, quick water colour sketch made during lockdown, this is a deliberate attempt to culture the elegant, fluid simplicity of the marks.
In recapturing the inner light that occurs so naturally in the transparency of water colour, and to encompass the change in scale, a new balance formed between the flat pastel background and the more physical, luminous, flowing line.
By working relatively slowly compared to the rapidity of the sketch, there is a conscious reminiscence of the mood of the original. Action, then rest, then action again.
