Artist statement
Two extravagantly enlarged shear blade brush-strokes in aqua-marines, cut an actively neutral background diagonally left to right.
The artist has been working with double motifs in recent paintings, some seen in musical terms and in this work more actively, as cutting edges. This painting presages a series of limited edition intaglio prints in the making in his print-studio.
