The Sweetest Meditation No. 7

Each photogram of this ongoing series is made with cyanotype, a historical photo process which creates striking cyan-blue prints. Parallel to the rise of digital media it is being rediscovered as an authentic artistic medium. My approach is that of an intuitive intervention without an actual photo camera, it is a photographic performance which ultimately results in an image. I experiment and play with light and light-sensitive materials, the principal elements of photography. For the exposure I use scraps of leftover photographic images and arrange and expose them directly onto the light-sensitive paper, thus exploring the border between intention and chance.
