Artist statement
One of three works that capture the peaceful tranquility of the famous “Bird Mirror” port in Martigues, a seaside commune northwest of Marseille.
For three years, the artist returned to Martigues to conduct exploration sessions of the port, thus creating numerous small fragments of the scene. This painting is a synthesis of several years of work, a perfect representation of a winter day at the edge of a water canal.
