About the art
Artist statement
A familie of deer finding rest on a pod of grass. An unearthly and indivisible ritual.
This is a tale of a herd of deer sleeping peacefully on friendly slopes. The pastel painting describes the close relationship. By blending the colours and by using the same palette on the scenery and the deer I reinforce the tight connection and mutual dependence that exists between the to different life forms.
A dreamscape.
I use the lyrical form to express reimagined landscapes, this abstraction allows me to incorporate the whole experience brought to me by my senses. The scent of warm earth, the sound of running water and the whispers of wind on my cheeks; All the sensory experiences becomes part of what incarnates on the papers surface. When the landscape are dissolved and translated to a colour mood, it becomes an expression of the soul, like a dreamscape. a dreamscape.
This artwork is made with soft pastels and has a fine layer of fixative as finishing coat. It has a delicate surface and needs the protection of glass. It ships flat in a box.
