Artist statement
This abstract hilltop village is rising out of the rich earthy colours. I have been weaving the colors to a rich tapestry of organic forms suggesting plants and settlements using simple shapes, keeping a naive and playful mood.
In the Color Poetry series I rework old watercolor paintings with soft pastels to create new images with richer colors and more depth, creating colour moods from my early memories.
Nature is not represented by appearance in my work but by my impressions and thoughts, memories and dreams. I try to bring to life the beauty and my respect for mother nature in a variety of unexpected ways, capturing her vitality, bringing energy into my work.
