Artist statement
“The Second of April” is a heartwarming depiction of the bond between His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn during her childhood. The image captures a precious moment of them riding a Vespa together. Nibuesa shares a birthday with the Princess birthday, April 2nd, imbuing the artwork with a personal significance.
