Artist statement
Rarely does thick fog envelop Sydney Harbour, a moment I had waited for over five years to capture. Moments like these send shivers down your spine. Hastily, I seized my camera, light meter, and a handful of film.
This is a particularly interesting image since almost all the images were destroyed while I was developing. The development tank accidentally came open and fell out into the light. As quickly as I could I put it back into the container and this was the only frame that survived.
This is a hand-made platinum palladium print, considered the king of printing processes, and is a truly archival photographic print. Made out of inert precious metals rarer than gold which lends its longevity to over 1000 years. Each print is extremely labor-intensive and is considered a unique art object to itself.
