About GREEN HOUSE
Green House (2009), one of his exclusive works, illustrates furniture pieces floating in the air. However, it seems that half of the furniture is soaked in green colored water because half of the whole setting is colored in green. While seeing the void of the space the audience can sense unrealistic experience that the whole space is half soaked under the water. Once they move themselves from the particular space given by the artist, they notice the shapes of the furniture pieces are transformed and colored horizontally and then hung in the air with transparent string. The audience gets even more confused when encountering this work in photography version because this static image does not offer a physical setting around which they move and experience the different perspectives. Furthermore, viewers get more confused between the fixed notion on realism of photography, regarded as the reflection of the reality, and the unreality of images easily manipulated by a computer. Revealing or shaking the traces of stereotypes and making twist in the traces are Han’s distinct and mostly used method to efficiently express his ideas in works.”

ARTIST STATEMENT
All the facts are relevant. One fact can be interpreted in several ways depending on our perception, and from opposite views, two different facts can look the same. My work deals with perception and optics. Humans rely on the visual sense more than any other sense when perceiving the world. This 'seeing' behavior plays a very important role in my work. I want to show the reality that the world can only be interpreted at a subjective point of view, and it is impossible to maintain objectivity. All works have different standards which makes a unique system. I visualize this system to give an idea that how we perceive this world without any doubt.
