About the art
Artist statement
Feel is one of my first pieces with colour, it is the start of a new and exciting phase, it is a calming piece, that was born out of my continued exploration of closeness in my work.
Moons are also a constant in my work, if you have ever watched the moon as religiously as I do, you would know that the moon has so many faces, my fascination started when I used it as a constant presence in my more figurative works, and I slowly became fascinated by the shape and the possibilities it offered to my work, it grew from a representation of the moon to a recurring motif.
I usually name my artworks instantly after completion and although the name is rarely a literal representation of the work, in this instance the name tells all, suddenly there was a totally different feel to the work.
The three lines on the side represent the sun, and I use them often in my compositions.
