Artist statement
Moons 2 by Lana Alsamir Diamond - stacked like stepping stones, abstract minimal piece, that developed intuitively, with sensitivity to negative space. It has a very calm yet bold presence.
Moons are a constant in my work, if you have ever watched the moon as religiously as I do, you would know that the moon has so many faces, my fascination started when I used it as a constant presence in my more figurative works, and I slowly became fascinated by the shape and the possibilities it offered to my work, it grew from a representation of the moon to a recurring motif in my work.
I feel my pieces are happy to hang alone, in groups or with other pieces.
Ink on hand made cotton paper, natural colour deckled paper.
