Artist statement
Tide by Lana Alsamir-Diamond - the sound of waves crashing is what I heard when I looked at this work once completed, the ocean is my happy place it brings moments of solitude and bliss.
Moons are a constant in my work, if you have ever watched the moon as religiously as I do, you would know that the moon has so many faces, my fascination started when I used it as a constant presence in my more figurative works, and I slowly became fascinated by the shape and the possibilities it offered to my work, it grew from a representation of the moon to a recurring motif in my work.
