About the art
Artist statement
This abstract oil painting from the collection The Flock is in a style the artist calls “evocative abstract”. Paint layering gives subtle structure and textures to this work. A sense of quiet clarity is built by a rhythmic composition featuring mark making and a finessed colour palette. There is a transparency, usually associated with aquarel, allowing Eremeeva to exploit subtly nuanced and balanced components and so create an alluring visual impression. As with all her works, the title incites the viewer’s curiosity and encourages a deeper examination of the piece.
“In this collection, I feel as if I am herding thoughts and emotions into textures and rhythm … I want the painting to evoke feelings, memories and images … stimulating an emotive recall to the conscious mind of the viewer.”
