About the art
Artist statement
This disks is made out of foam board, a commercial sheathing material that I use from time to time. Being lightweight I mount it on plywood. It has a reflective surface and is easy to cut and section with an exacto knife. Beside cutting it it also accepts paint and graphite and other mediums very well.
This is a compositional piece. What is unique here is that some of the foam board has been cut out, elevated, and then reinserted, causing the service to be more irregular than ordinarily. The piece sort of resembles standing water collecting in pools and floating off of high places.
