About the art
Artist statement
This series is called excavation and refers to the technique I use.
In archaeology it's the exposure, processing and recording of remains.
It evolved from lumina, focusing more on the panel than the grid.
Many layers of primer, gesso, paint and varnishes are applied on a panel.
The layers are put on and taken away alternately until the work is done.
