About the art
Artist statement
This artwork features a striking exploration of texture and contrast. A deep, velvety black dominates the canvas, its intensity rendered through vertical striations that evoke a sense of motion and depth. The top half appears like a midnight waterfall, cascading into a serene basin of thick horizontal lines near the bottom. This interplay of light and shadow is accentuated by the subtle, almost imperceptible introduction of earthy brown undertones, which lend an organic warmth to the piece. The minimalist composition invites contemplation, highlighting the artist's mastery of nuance and form. It transcends traditional boundaries, offering viewers a meditative escape into the abstract.
